Am seeking information on John and Elizabeth Johnson. Their children are:

John Johnson
born: 1847, Warwick NY
died: 1854 Vernon NJ
Lived in Warwick/Walkill area from abt 1825 -- 1840s. Then lived in Vernon NJ from 1850 to 1860s.

1865 state census states John and Elizabeth Johnson were living with their daughter Rebecca Babcock in Deerpark.

Seeking to confirm: Elizabeth Johnson's maiden name was Merrick and any other information about this family. John Johnson was born in NYC. Family lore has it that he was a descendent of Sir William Johnson, Superintendent of Indian Affairs in 1700s. Also am not sure that Elizabeth Merrick Johnson is the mother of Ruth Ann Johnson Stidworthy. Elizabeth is not listed on Ruth Ann's death certificate.
