Minisink.org Genealogy Forum / Minisink Families / James Reed and Meritt H Cash

I'm looking for information on James Reed (1810 Census, Minisink, Orange County, New York). This may be a James Reed Sr. (if they were distinguished as such in the 1800s). My 3rd Great Grandfather was named Merritt Cash Reed born near West Town (I assume this town still exists) in 1839. I'm guess that perhaps he was named after the individual of Meritt Cash (located immediately after James Reed in the 1810 Census).
I have also located James Reed (presumable Jr.) in the 1850 Census (1850 Census, Minisink, Orange County, New York). He is listed as a Farmer having 6 children.
I don't know if there is a strong Reed or Cash presence in the Minisink Area as I have never been there. I just recently found it on a map.
If anyone has additional information, please let me know.

My ggg grandfather was Richard Reed, born 26 April 1781 in Minisink, NY. His parents were Daniel and Martha Reed. I can't find them in any early census, but there were 3 Reed families ling in Minisink in 1790----James, John, and Joseph. If you hear anything about a Daniel or Richard in this time period, please let me know. Thanks, Barbara

I have a Richard F. Reed born in Minisink in 1790. His parents were Daniel and Martha Reed. He had a brother named Frederick D. Reed. Richard and Frederick move to Ontario County NY, and then to Ohio.
