Hi,

I am looking for any information on descendents of my great-great grandfather George J. Burgard (born 1818 Prussia -died 1897 Parkers Glen, Pike, PA; buried St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis) and his wife Elizabeth Wilbert (1830 Alsace, France - 1920 Newark, NJ; buried St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis). They had a number of children and great-grandchildren. One, Christopher Burgard (1872-1952) married into the Byrnes Family of Westfall twp. area, Pike Co., PA; another, George P., married into the Hinkel Family of Pike Co.

George Sr.'s obituary notes that he arrived in PJ in 1848 and ran the 'old brewery'. He moved to Cahoozie about 1861 and by 1867 had moved to Pike County.

I have located the burial locations of 9 of his 10 children and have some information on them, but one - David Burgard (born about 1850) still is lost. He last appears in Huguenot in 1897, but does not seem to be in the 1900 census.

Finally there are some recent Burgards buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis:

Elizabeth Burgard (1887-1983)
Amelia Burgard Dolbear

Any info about these individuals or the Burgard/Wilbert family would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe Price
