Moses ran the ferry until 1827, when the Milford Bridge was built.

His father was William Crawford [Crafford] and mother was Cathrina Smith. Moses was born Jan. 23, 1785, and lived near the site of the Nelden-Hornbeck farmhouse off 206. He ran a sawmill on White Brook.
His wife's parents were William Cole and Sarah Wells. They had 9 children.
