Hi my name is Brenden and I am doing research for my 5th grade family tree project.I found in my Jervis family information that the father of Thomas Jervis born in Jervis Port on November 19, 1776 named the city. Does anyone know if this is true? Thank You.

afraid not. Port Jervis was named about 1825 after the President of the Delaware & Hudson Canal Company - John B. Jervis. During the timeframe you are referring to it town was known as Magheckemeck.
