John V. Smith 28yrs on 1850 census as a shoemaker born about 1828, wife Laura Benedict some records re him on Gertrude Barber's 1931 Church Records Dutch Reformed of Mamakating but not enough to identify his family does anyone know if the original  records of this church exist and if yes where, or any other ideas you may suggest?

ANY AND ALL LEADS APPRECIATED  MANY THANKS

I've traced the Benedicts (Laura's family) back to 1617, if anyone needs information regarding this family let me know.
